PLACEBO POSTPONE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

PLACEBO have today announced they have been forced to postpone their
forthcoming tour of North America after their lead singer, Brian Molko,
collapsed on stage at Summer Sonic Festival in Osaka, Japan.
Brian had picked up a virus in Asia which, coupled with jet lag and exhaustion,
caused the problem after the first song.

Brian is now back home in London recovering, but has been ordered by his
doctors to take a 6 week long period of rest. Regrettably therefore, the
band and management have no option but to postpone the forthcoming North
American tour.

Riverman Management commented, "This is pretty
devastating for everyone - we've only ever cancelled 3 shows in
Placebo's 14 year history, however Brian's health is paramount. Our
sincere apologies go out to Placebo's loyal American fans who have
waited a long time to see the band. We will try and do everything to
re-arrange the dates as soon as possible".

The band have had an intensive worldwide schedule this year, promoting
their 6th studio album 'Battle for the Sun', this includes 24 high
profile festival performances over the summer, an unprecedented amount
for any band in 2009.

PLACEBO RIMANDATO IL TOUR DEL NORD AMERICA

i PLACEBO hanno annunciato oggi che sono stati costretti a posticipare il loro imminente tour nord-americano dopo che il loro cantante, Brian Molko, è crollato sul palco del Summer Sonic Festival a Osaka, Giappone.
Brian aveva preso un virus in Asia che, combinato con jet lag e esaurimento [intendono stanchezza e spossatezza penso], ha causato il problema dopo la prima canzone.

Brian è ora tornato a casa a Londra a riprendersi, ma gli è stato ordinato dal medico di prendere un periodo di riposo di 6 settimane. Purtroppo quindi, la band e i manager non hanno altre opzioni se non posticipare l'imminente tour nord-americano.

Il Riverman Management ha commentato: "questo è davvero devastante per tutti - abbiamo cancellato solo 3 show in nella storia di 14 anni dei placebo, però la salute di brian è primaria. La nostre sincere scuse vanno ai fedeli fan americani dei Placebo che hanno aspettato molto tempo per vedere la band. Proveremo a fare di tutto per riarrangiare le date il prima possibile".

La band ha avuto un programma intensivo per tutto il mondo quest'anno, promuovendo il sesto album in studio 'Battle for the Sun', e questo include 24 performance a festival di alto profilo durante l'estate, una quantità senza precedenti per ogni band nel 2009.

per quanto riguarda le tre date di festival pare che si faranno...
sul sito del pukkelpop è uscito questo che conferma la loro presenza là.. e penso quindi che anche leeds e reading siano confermate di conseguenza..

però ho sentito voci che non sono state cancellate per le somme che avrebbero dovuto pagare e casini che avrebbero avuto cancellando i loro accordi con questi grandi festival.. mi smorza da morire il sollievo di vederli davvero venerdi sinceramente

PLACEBO CONFIRM READING & LEEDS FESTIVAL SHOWS

Contrary to various media reports, Placebo would like to confirm that they will be playing the Reading & Leeds Festival on August 28th & 30th

Brian’s doctors have advised that he needs rest and is unable to undertake a continuous and strenuous 4 week tour, which is why the tough decision to postpone the North American dates was taken.

PLACEBO and Riverman Management would like to thank fans for their continued support and kind words throughout this difficult time.

io penso perchè è una conferma a delle dischiarazioni della stampa che mettevano in discussione questi due di festival
boh sul sito del pukkelpop confermano ancora che ci saranno, e il loro ragionamento vale anche per il pukkelpop che è una data "isolata"..
